The Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics (RIDGE) is pleased to announce a call for papers for the Workshop on Economic History to be held in Montevideo, Uruguay, on 2-3 December 2019. The workshop is organized together with the 7th Economic History Congress, organized by the Uruguayan Economic History Association (AUDHE), on December 4-5.
RIDGE invites papers for this economic history workshop on all subjects of economic history provided they are particularly concerned with developing regions.
The 2019 workshop will take place within the framework of the 2019 RIDGE December Forum along with the following workshops:
Financial Stability, December 11-12 (Montevideo, Uruguay)
International Macro, December 9-10 (Montevideo, Uruguay)
Growth and Development in Macroeconomics / International Trade, December 17-19 (Montevideo, Uruguay)
The RIDGE forums aim at the spreading high quality research in economics by bringing together prestigious researchers working on the frontier of knowledge and local and regional researchers and policymakers.
Participants to this workshop are welcome to attend the other workshops.

Keynote speaker: Herman de Jong (University of Groningen and Maddison Project): "The Maddison Project GDP Database: assumptions and dilemmas"
Central roundtable (coordinated with the 6th Economic History Congress of the Uruguayan Economic History Association): "The current situation of Latin America from a historical point of view" (Enrique Cárdenas, José Antonio Ocampo and Luis Bértola).
